Eleanor Griffin Obituary


Eleanor Beavers Griffin PORTSMOUTH - Eleanor Beavers Griffin, 86, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Nov. 10, 2008. She was a native of Richmond, a devoted member of Churchland Baptist Church and was a co-owner of Griffin Enterprises Inc. Mrs. Griffin was predeceased by her husband, Francis Gordon "Bubba" Griffin Sr. She is survived by her three sons, F. Gordon Griffin Jr. and his wife Beth of Suffolk, Charles E. Griffin Sr. of Chesapeake, Wayne C. Griffin and his wife Kathy of Henrico County; two sisters, Virginia Griffin and Lois Faison; a brother, Vernon Beavers; 10 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Harold Beavers and two brothers, Alvin and Harold Beavers Jr. The family would like to express their appreciation for the love, care and kindness given to Mrs. Griffin by her caregiver, Tina Standin. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Churchland Baptist Church by the Rev. Lawrence B. Coleman and Dr. Dan Koger with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to Churchland Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
