Margaret Wooldridge Obituary


Margaret D. Wooldridge NORFOLK - Margaret Mary Donovan Wooldridge died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 11, 2008, at her daughter's home with her daughter by her side. A native of Norfolk, she was a graduate of St. Vincent DePaul Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduation, she worked at the Veterans Hospital in Hampton, Va., as well as several VA hospitals in the state of New York while studying at Columbia University. She was the daughter of the late Mary Agnes Hope Donovan and William Francis Donovan Sr. She was predeceased by her sister, Catherine Donovan Johnakin and her brothers, William Francis Donovan Jr. and James Hope Donovan. She became the widow of James W. Wooldridge Sr., the love of her life, in November 2004. She is survived by her children, James W. Wooldridge Jr. and wife Joan of Midlothian, Margaret W. Bailey and husband Robert of Chesapeake, William D. Wooldridge of St. Petersburg and John J. Wooldridge of Norfolk. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, James W. Wooldridge III and wife Connie Jo of Glen Allen, David C. Wooldridge, Thomas M. Wooldridge and Katheryn Rose Wooldridge of Midlothian. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Sunday at 2 p.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church by Fr. Brian M. Rafferty. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Tuesday at 1 p.m. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Herbert Brewer and his staff of Mrs. Brewer, Arlene, and especially Monica, for the loving, compassionate and highly skilled level of care our mother received. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
