Nancy Psimas Obituary


Nancy G. Psimas PORTSMOUTH - Nancy Gollehon Psimas, 89, of Waters Street, died Nov. 16, 2008, in a Norfolk hospital. Mrs. Psimas, a native of Saltville, Va., was the widow of Dr. George N. Psimas. She was a founding member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Portsmouth, where she served on the altar guild and in the choir for more than 30 years. She was past president of the Portsmouth Academy of Medicine Woman's Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Leigh Psimas of Portsmouth; three sons, George N. Psimas Jr. and wife Julie of Virginia Beach, Robert E. Psimas and wife Peggy of Chesapeake, Alan C. Psimas and wife Elizabeth of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, George N. Psimas III, Robert E. Psimas Jr., Kathryn H. Psimas and Ryan D. Psimas; six great-grandchildren, Madeline, Nicholas, Ethan, Kiera, Rowan and Brynn. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 3300 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Eileen Walsh. Entombment will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum, Suffolk. Foster Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to: Susan G.
