Lottie Riddick Obituary
Lottie M. Riddick SUNBURY - Lottie Mathias Riddick, 89, of the 200 block of Folly Road, died Nov. 28, 2008, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mrs. Riddick was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late Sidney Hersey and Olivia Gertrude Harrell Mathias. A homemaker, she was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Cross Riddick; her daughter, Sharon Riddick Godfrey; and a grandson, Lee Godfrey. Surviving are her son, James S. "Jimmy" Riddick and wife Sue; her son-in-law, Kermit Godfrey; grandchildren, Teresa Stallings and husband Sidney Earl, Kelly Godfrey and wife Helen and Bobby Riddick and wife Erin, all of Sunbury and Kenneth Godfrey and wife Diana of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and 10 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Bryan and Logan Stallings, Jamie, Kelsey and Kinlee Godfrey, Nikki Divido, Johnny Espinosa, Eric Campbell and J.T. Riddick. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. E. Vernon Gilmer Jr. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the home of her son, 266 Folly Road, Sunbury.

Mother is really going to miss a good friend. Her prayers are with the family. She had good times talking with Lottie every day & it is going to be hard for Mother to cope, not having her friend close by to joke with. She is really sorry to hear of your loss.
