Pauline McFarland Obituary


Pauline S. McFarland NORFOLK - Pauline Frances Sexton McFarland, 84, died in her sleep on the morning of Nov. 26, 2008, in the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Jacksonville, Fla., from complications involving a heart condition. She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marie Sexton. She was the loving wife of William T. McFarland who died in 1998. She was a graduate of Maury High School. She was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Virginia Beach. In 2003, she moved to Orange Park, Fla., to be near her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. She has gone home to be with her mother, father and husband. She is survived by her son, William T. McFarland Jr.; daughter-in-law, Denise McFarland; and granddaughter, Natalie Marie McFarland; two of her four sisters and brother survive her; Peggy Killingsworth of Taft, Calif., and Betty Harrington of Fredericksburg, Va. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 4200 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach or to the Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
