Sara Murphy Obituary


Sara J. Murphy CHESAPEAKE - Sara Craft Johnson Murphy, 82, went to be with the Lord and her husband Charlie "Bud" Johnson; son, Robert "Bobby" Johnson and daughter, Pamela Kay Johnson Dec. 4, 2008. She is survived by her best friend and husband, Alvin Murphy and daughter, Louise Johnson Lambeth (Tony) of Pollard, Ala., and two sons, Myron Johnson (Theresa) of Aylett, Va., and William "Billy" Johnson of Richmond, Va.; and her sister, Becky Craft Briere of Little Washington, N.C. She will be missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and dear, dear friends. Sara was born in Old Sparta, N.C., and moved to the Tidewater area in 1946. Sara lived the past 1 1/2 years in Pollard, Ala., to be near her daughter, Louise and son-in-law Tony. She was a member of Tidewater Baptist Temple for 27 years. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Tidewater Baptist Temple, 1316 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, with Pastor Charles Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Bieber and I have wonderful memories of this dear Saint of God. Our friendship goes back to the days at Tabernacle when Pam died. We are praying for the family and rejoice that Sara is with the Lord. Prov. 3:5-6

i'm very sorry for your loss i am sure she is rejoicing in heaven to se her husband and her daughter who she loved and lost very early in life i was a member at tidewater for a long time sara was a very nice lady i was linda young at the time i will be thinking of you and i'm sure you will miss sara dearly
