Vernon Deihl Obituary


Vernon C. Deihl HAMPTON - Vernon C. Deihl, 69, died Dec. 3, 2008. Born in Northumberland County, Virginia, he had been a Hampton resident for many years. Vernon had served in the U.S. Army and had worked for E.V. Williams Contracting since 1966. Vernon is survived by the love of his life of 28 years, Kathy Abers; and her parents, Max and Anna Lupei; brother, John Edward Deihl and wife Gerri; nephews, William Edward Deihl and Robert Thomas Deihl and their wives; three great-nieces and one great-nephew. The family would like to thank his many friends, members of the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Club and E.V. Williams for their care and support during Vernon's illness. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. The interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Roseland Cemetery, Reedville, Va.
