Jessie Perry Obituary


Jessie C. Perry VIRGINIA BEACH - Jessie Christine Perry, 91, passed away Dec. 3, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Center Hill, N.C., to the late Joe and Mable Perry. She married her husband, Paul T. Perry Sept. 27, 1930; they moved to Princess Anne County in 1937 and lived in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area for the remainder of her life. Jessie was a seamstress by trade, working at most of the department stores in Norfolk including, Sears, Ames & Brownley and Smith & Welton. She also worked at the Norfolk Naval Air Rework Facility during World War II and the 1960s. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 78 years, Paul T. Perry; sons, Julian T. Perry and his wife Joyce and retired Air Force Lt. Col. William J. Perry and wife Heneritta; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. You may contact the family at the home of her son, Julian T. Perry.
