Arthur Massie Obituary


A. Allen Massie NORFOLK - Arthur Allen Massie, 66, born May 5, 1942, was called home to be with the Lord Dec. 4, 2008, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Allen is survived by his wife, Lillian R. Massie and stepson, Eddie Jones, both of Norfolk; his sister, Linda Bailey and her husband Wayne of Virginia Beach; also left to cherish his memory is Allen's extended family that include aunts, uncles, nephew and nieces; he also leaves behind many dear friends who will truly miss him. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Buster Massie and mother, Margaret Mabey; his brother, Cecil Massie; and stepson, Roy Dye, all of whom were surely present to welcome him into heaven. A memorial service will be conducted at Gateway Freewill Baptist Church, 5473 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, at 6 p.m. Thursday. The family has asked, in lieu of flowers, that anyone interested in expressing condolences please make donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of Allen. Please send any memorial donations to ACS Virginia Beach Office, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Please include "in memory of Allen Massie" with your donation to guarantee our friend is never forgotten and his struggle with this illness was not in vain. Your gift will ensure Allen lives forever through helping others.
