Helen Curry Obituary

Helen L. Curry VIRGINIA BEACH - Helen L. Curry, 74, much beloved mother and grandmother, rejoined the Lord Dec. 7, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward R. Curry and is survived in loving memory by her children and their spouses, Kim and John Lourenco, Donna and George Stankiewicz and Edward and Debra Curry and her grandchildren, Mary, Andrei, Zhenja, Brittany, Allison and Reagan. She held a special place in her heart for her dear friend, Mary Frances Morgan of Cheriton, Va. She was an active member of the Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach and enjoyed volunteering her time and sharing friendships in the "Peanuts Group" and Food Closet. She was a long-standing member of the CPO Wives Club at NAB Little Creek where she found and shared the joy and comfort that dear friends bring to everyday life. Having worked at the Navy Exchange at Little Creek for many years, she became friends with customers and coworkers alike as she did with her neighbors in her home at Victoria Place. She was recognized by all as a kind, loving and generous person and infused her children and grandchildren with the remarkable gifts of both strength and humor to carry them through life. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the physicians and nurses of the CCU and CSICU of Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital who shared their skill, compassion and tears with us through this most difficult time. A celebration of Helen's life will be held in Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, by the Rev. Christopher Thompson. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.

TO KIM AND FAMILY. WE FIND IT DIFFICULT TO FIND THE WORDS TO EXPRESS OUR DEEPEST, MOST SINCERE FEELINGS OF REMORSE. HELEN IS ONE OF OUR DEAREST, TREASURED FRIENDS. SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR US. WE CAN TAKE SOME COMFORT IN KNOWING THERE ARE ANGELS AMONGST US AND HELEN IS AN ANGEL.
