Evie Mardoc Obituary

Evie P. Mardoc VIRGINIA BEACH - Evie P. Mardoc was born Sept. 19, 1934, in the Bronx, N.Y., daughter of the late Peter and Reba Pappas. She embarked on her life's last adventure Dec. 8, 2008, after a courageous battle against cancer. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Parker and sister, Helen Catanzaro. She is survived by her husband, Vincent R. Mardoc; daughter, Lynne Alison Mardoc; and two sons, Peter and Philip; sister, Lucy Yevlove; brother-in-law, Arthur Yevlove; four grandchildren, Esther, Gabriel, Nathaniel and Zachary Mardoc; and beloved family friend, Roberta Hampton. She grew up in the Bronx, but spent her married life of 55 years in Connecticut, Florida and Virginia Beach. She dearly loved her family and took every opportunity to help those in need. She would also help and visit dear elderly friends. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She loved the Canadian Rockies and a three-week camping trip to Alaska. In her early years, she was a real estate agent and in Virginia Beach rented space to sell antiques. There will be a celebration of her life Saturday, Dec. 13, at 3600 Sea Pines Road, Apt. D4, from 1 to 5 p.m. Contributions to the Cancer Society in her name would be appreciated. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
