Margaret Smith Obituary

Margaret J. Smith VIRGINIA BEACH - Margaret J. Smith, 77, passed away Jan. 14, 2009, at a local hospital. Born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Margaret retired from civil service after 22 years. The widow of William C. Smith, Margaret is survived by two sons, William Earl Alexander and family of Chesapeake and Charles Lloyd Alexander and family of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Michael Charles Alexander of Virginia Beach and Jessica Leigh Alexander of North Carolina, Rebecca Campbell, Sharifa Williams and Carmen Thompkins and their families, all of Virginia Beach; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and extended family, Betty Tiller and her family. She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Sharpe. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, with Elder Debra Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

All my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Jo was a sweet lady who i have only know a few years. I will miss her dearly, she was quite a character. She was a good bingo buddy. I will miss her hugs and kisses. She will be watching down on us all.
