Dorothy Hinton Obituary

Dorothy B. Hinton CHESAPEAKE - Dorothy B. Hinton, 89, of Gale Avenue, died Jan. 21, 2009. She was born in Norfolk County, Virginia, and was a widow. She was a member of Rehoboth AME Church, Chesapeake, where she was a member of Mason-Wright Missionary, Lay Organization and the Adult Sunday School class. She was also a charter member of Gardenia Temple No. 720, IBPOE of W. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Geraline Cox (Harry) of Chesapeake; two sons, Marshall Hinton (Linda) of Crowley, Texas, and Vincent M. Hinton Sr. of Portsmouth; six grandchildren, Vernetta Willoughby (James), Tara Jackson (James) of Fishers, Ind., Vincent Hinton Jr. (Shanda) of Milford, Conn., Stephanie Hinton of Crowley, Texas, Jodi Nelson (Sheridan) of Suffolk and Dr. Vernard Hinton (Tracey) of Arlington, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Sheridan Nelson II, Jayla Willoughby, Skylar Hinton and Jalen Willoughby. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Rehoboth AME Church, 405 Shell Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Willie P. Boothe III will officiate. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
