Maury Kroll Obituary

Maury Kroll VIRGINIA BEACH - Maury Kroll, 85, passed away Jan. 21, 2009. Born May 15, 1923, he lived in the Tidewater area all of his life. Maury was educated in the Norfolk school system and graduated from the Norfolk Navy Yard as a machinist, Shop 31. He Served in World War II in the Army Air Corps. Maury was the last of the master locksmith Kroll family, a presence in Norfolk since 1922. Survivors include his wife, Ann Leigh Kroll - 56 wonderful years; children, Kevin Tabakin and husband Gary, Lori Cox and husband Frank, Natanya Russell and JoAnn Kroll and special friend Dr. Kathy Hoff; sister, Ida Kittner and husband Bill; brothers, Harry Kroll and Calvin Kroll; and grandchildren, Michael, Amy and Brian Tabakin, Jason and Amanda Cox and Matthew Russell. Services will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, at 11 a.m. today. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Beth Sholom Home. The family will be sitting Shiva at 219B 82nd St., in Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be offered to the family at hdoliver.com.

I was sorry to hear about Mr. Kroll's passing. He was lifelong friends with my grandparents, Sidney and Adele Ashe and I fondly remember spending time together with all of them at the condos.
