William Ferrell Obituary

William F. Ferrell CHESAPEAKE - William F. "Bill" Ferrell, 67, of Whittamore Road, passed away at home surrounded by family, Jan. 23, 2009. Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late C.H. "Jack" and Hazel Ferrell. Bill loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a 1959 graduate of Oscar Smith High School. He was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church, a past Master of Great Bridge Masonic Lodge No. 257, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Royal Arch. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Arline O. Ferrell; two children, Arlene Maney and Ted Ferrell and wife Connie; four grandchildren, Melissa Hendrix, Amanda Maney, Taylor Ferrell and Brooke Ferrell; two great-grandchildren, Emily Hendrix and Ashlynn Castle; two sisters, Eloise England and Kathleen Bennett. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Good Hope United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark Christian will officiate. The interment with Masonic rites will follow in Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The viewing will begin Sunday with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. My heart is sad Mr. Ferrell is not with us. I remember him as my first softball coach, the owner of ART Jewelers and then we bowled together for awhile. He will always be a fond memory to me. God Bless
