Margaret Prince Obituary

Margaret C. Prince NORFOLK - Margaret Colenda Prince, 81, of the 7700 block of N. Shirland Ave., died Jan. 26, 2009, in a local hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk and was the widow of James E. Prince Jr. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher C. and Rose Higgins Colenda; her brothers, Christopher C. Colenda Jr. and J. Alton Colenda; and her sister, Nell Rose Swain. She was a graduate of Maury High School and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include her sons, James E. Prince III of Norfolk, William A. Prince and his wife Kimberly of Norfolk, Matthew T. Prince and his wife Anita of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Thomas C. Prince of Norfolk; sisters-in-law, Janet Colenda of Williamsburg and Geraldine Colenda of Virginia Beach; brother-in-law, William T. Prince of Norfolk; and five grandchildren The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church by the Rev. Daniel N. Klem. A Christian wake service will be held in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Thursday at 7 p.m. followed by a visitation with family until 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School Endowment Fund.
