William Patrick Obituary

William N. Patrick CHESAPEAKE - William N. "Pat" Patrick, 88, passed away in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in South Mills, N.C., to the late George Patrick and Susie Patrick Keye. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor; his oldest son, John; his daughter-in-law, Karen; his granddaughter, April Todd; his brothers, Carl Goodwin and Walter Patrick; and a sister, Nellie Waller. He was a member of Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge No. 178, worthy patron of Eastern Star No. 155 in Great Bridge and Deep Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired City of Chesapeake employee and a retired welder from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Mr. Patrick was a World War II Veteran. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Quehl; his sons, Richard, David Sr., George Sr., Marvin and Marlin Patrick, all of Chesapeake; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Margaret Sawyer of Goldsboro, N.C. He will be remembered for his wonderful since of humor and deeply missed by all who knew him. The family is forever grateful to our sister, Linda, and her daughter, Eleanor, and hospice for the loving care during his illness. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Deep Creek Baptist Church, 250 Mill Creek Parkway, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Larry Ryals and the Rev. Zack Deal officiating. Masonic rites will be administered at the church. Interment will follow the service in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The viewing will begin today with the family receiving family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home and Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
