Georgia Spencer Obituary

Georgia Anna Spencer SUFFOLK - Georgia Anna Spencer, 91, died Jan. 23, 2009, in Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation Health Center. She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie L. Morris. She was also predeceased by her husband, Willie Spencer. She retired from the City of Norfolk as a dietary aide. She attended the Historic Queen Street Baptist Church in Norfolk. She was affiliated with the Suffolk Senior Services Center. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Spencer-Ridley of Suffolk; one son, William Lawrence Spencer (Zelma) of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Ambritt Spencer, Angela Spencer Carter and Justin Ridley; one great-grandchild, Markeshia Spencer; and other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in the Historic Queen Street Baptist Church, 413 East Brambleton Ave., Norfolk, with Dr. Glen E. Porter Sr. officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The family will be at 125 Kings Point Drive, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. georgia was a great person to be around. She would give you anything she had. she was so kind and sweet to all of us and treated us like her grandchildren as well.

May god be with you during this time and always. Monica introduced me to Miss Georgia and I soon learned to love her. She will be missed by many. May God bless you all.
