Jean Alexander Obituary

Jean Alexander NORFOLK - Jean "Sistah" Alexander, 66, of the 600 block of Obendorfer Road, passed away Jan. 29, 2009. She was born Oct. 20, 1942, to the late Vivian Beatrice Bell-Alexander and Gilbert Alexander in Norfolk. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald M. Alexander and a sister, Janice V. Alexander. She is survived by one daughter, Bonita C. Marks; four sons, Blair Alexander, Brian Alexander, Brett Alexander and Brandon Alexander; one sister, Minnie O. White; two brothers, John G. Alexander and Otis D. Alexander; a lifelong friend, Leonard Barron; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Monday in First Baptist Church, Berkley, 706 E. Berkley Ave. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 609 Obendorfer Road one hour prior to service for procession to the church. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Ave. Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.

To the family, to hear of this brings great sadness to my heart. I last saw the family when my father was in Sentara back in Dec. 08. I have many great memories of yourmother "such a GREAT WOMEN". Peral Carrington your neighbor....The youngest daughter of Vernon and Joyce Wilson God Bless.
