Margaret Hallden Obituary

Margaret A. Hallden VIRGINIA BEACH - Margaret A. Hallden, 72, passed away Jan. 30, 2009, at Sentara Leigh Hospital after a prolonged illness. She was the youngest daughter of the late Milton Weeks and Frances Hagan of New York. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret was an ODU graduate, Marine Corps and civil service retiree. Highlights of her working career included managing an accounting office at an Army base in Zweibrucken, Germany, and the successful completion of the military comptrollership course at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind. She was a past member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers and the association of government accountants. Margaret is survived by her husband, David N. Hallden of Virginia Beach; sister, Lorraine W. Capparo of New York; son, William S. Gibson of Florida; daughters, Barbara A. Hodge (Randall) of Chesapeake and Patricia L. Roberts-Jones (Brian) of Richmond; three stepchildren from out of state; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Private arrangements are being made for the convenience of the family. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Joseph Forestiere, MD; and Sentara Leigh Hospital and staff for their outstanding care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lupus Foundation of America or Virginia Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squads, EMS Admin. Office, 477 Viking Drive, Suite 103, Virginia Beach VA 23452. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, provided support and services.
