Gwendolyn Jackson Obituary

Gwendolyn W. Jackson CHESAPEAKE - Gwendolyn Wilkins Jackson, 63, of Seaton Circle, went to be with the Lord Feb. 2, 2009, in Chesapeake. A native of Baltimore, she was the daughter of Merlee P. Wilkins and the late Richard C. Wilkins. She worked as a teller for Virginia National Bank, secretary for the Brunswick School Board and the law offices of Gary W. Searcy. A member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she sung in the choir, she was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren and enjoyed photography, the beach, and decorating for Christmas. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Henry W. Jackson; two daughters, Alisa Jackson of Virginia Beach and Trenita Jackson Stewart and her husband Jeff of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Pvt. Timothy K. Howell, stationed in Afghanistan, Taylor Nicole Lucas of Virginia Beach and Jordan Taylor Stewart of Chesapeake; three sisters, Alice Hawkins and her husband Glynn and Diane Hawkins and her husband Larry, all of Lawrenceville, Va., and Angela Wilkins of Chesapeake; four brothers, Richard Wilkins, Charles Wilkins and his wife Lamoyne, all of Hackensack, N.J., and John Wilkins and his wife Dell and Ronnie Wilkins, all of Lawrenceville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Lee Wilkins and a brother, Harry Wilkins. A funeral will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with Dr. James Baker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A graveside service will be held Saturday at noon in Greens Chapel RZUA Church Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Va. Please share a memory with the family at grahamfuneralhome.com.

TJ, my heart was broken when Carol told me about your mom's passing. I still have the letter she sent and treasure the call we shared. I will be lifting your family in prayer and ask God to hold you close at this difficult time.
