Alta Boykins Obituary

Alta M. Parker Boykins VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Alta M. Parker Boykins, 75, of the 1200 block of Nesbitt Drive and formerly of Warfield Drive, Portsmouth, passed away Feb. 1, 2009. She was a native of Portsmouth. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, King L. Boykins. Alta Maureen Parker Boykins leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Crystal Hurd, Dawn Artemus (Cleveland), Agnes Baxter (Carl) and Daphne Daniels (Carl); four sons, Donald (Shelby), Peter (Lindsay), Ricky (LuAna) and Bernard Thomas (Veronica); one sister, Joyce Parker Kerns; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Emmanuel True Holliness Church, 2503 Deep Creek Blvd., Portsmouth. Interment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will receive relatives and friends for remembrance and visitation today from 6 to 8 p.m. in Beach Funeral Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach.
