Stephen Harrison Allen

Stephen H. Allen NORFOLK - Stephen Harrison Allen, 55, of the 100 block of Glendale Ave., passed away Feb. 5, 2009, in his home. After a courageous battle surrounded by his loving family, the Lord took Steve by the hand and led him home. Born in Beaufort County, North Carolina, he was a native of Norfolk. He was in commercial sales with Advance Auto Parts. He was a member of Christ First Community Fellowship, where he served faithfully as the church treasurer and sang in the choir. He is survived by his wife, Evonne Delissa Allen; his parents, Frank F. and Mary Jane Allen of Beaufort, N.C.; two sons, Randy William Allen and Charles Elden Allen, both of Norfolk; a sister, Cindy Thomas and husband Gary of Newport News; four brothers, Frank Allen Jr. and wife Rose of Roper, N.C., John Allen and wife Liz of Newport News, Barry Allen and wife Melanie of Smithfield and David Allen of Newport News; two grandsons, Jacob Noah Allen and Andrew Austin Allen; and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Salyers and husband Jerry of Norfolk and Ramona Czerwinski and husband Joe of Virginia Beach. A funeral will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Christ First Community Fellowship with Pastor Joe Spear officiating. The burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and all other times at their home, 135 Glendale Ave. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
