Alva E. Buxton

Alva E. Buxton CHESAPEAKE - Alva Engle Buxton, 91, of Fairway Drive, died Feb. 6, 2009, in a Chesapeake hospital. A native of Portsmouth, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Earl Buxton and her parents, Albert and Rosa Engle. Mrs. Buxton was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Thomas W. Buxton and wife Shirley of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Heather Lawrence and husband Karl; and a great-grandson, Martin Lawrence. She also will be missed by her very good friends, Doris Leigh and Rudy Guest and her caregiver, Nicole. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev.
