Melvin Watson Obituary

Melvin H. Watson Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Melvin H. Watson Jr., 54, of the 100 block of Lincoln Road, departed this life Feb. 5, 2009, in a local hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Doris and Melvin Watson Sr. and his brother, Tony J. Watson. He was a former member of First Baptist Crestwood where he served on the Usher Board and later became a member of Calvary Revival Church, Norfolk. He received his education at Morris S. Brown College and was self employed as a computer analyst. Those left to cherish his memory are former wife, Sabrina Watson; two children, Miles and Mya Watson; two sisters, Renee Walker and Sherri Harris; four aunts, Dr. Shirley Winstead, Dee Smith, Jacqueline Jarvis and Fannie Steward; five uncles, Bernard Jarvis, Melvin Douglas Jarvis, Carlton Jarvis, Walter Jr. Jarvis and Ray Jarvis; three nephews, George Walker, Stephan Harris and Alexander Dickerson; one niece, Deshawna Gaye; and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist, Crestwood. The Rev. Dr. Anthony B. Rogers will officiate.
