Ernestine Ragone Obituary

Ernestine O. Ragone PORTSMOUTH - Ernestine O. Ragone, 97, of the 5800 block of Woodside Lane, passed away Feb. 16, 2009, in Portsmouth. A native of Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Olga Ornstein and the widow of Salvatore E. Ragone. She is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Canada of Portsmouth; her son, Stephen E. Ragone and wife Marguerite of Reston, Va.; six grandchildren, Debbie Canada Davis and husband Michael and Stacy R. Canada, both of Portsmouth, Gregory E. Canada of Oakland, Calif., John Ragone and wife Elizabeth of Richmond, Va., Matthew Ragone and wife Cindy of Oak Hill, Va., and David Ragone of Arlington, Va.; and eight great-grandchildren, Morgan Davis, Kempton Davis, Cole Ragone, Emma Ragone, Gabrielle Ragone, Greyson Ragone, Katie Ragone and Michael Ragone. She was predeceased by a grandson, Timothy Ragone. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the entire staff of Sentara Life Care Nursing Home, Portsmouth and the kindness given to their mother and grandmother "Bobbie" and great-grandmother. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. The burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
