Constance Milano Obituary

Constance D. Milano VIRGINIA BEACH - Constance DeMinico Milano, 99, passed away Feb. 16, 2009. She was born May 27, 1909 in Boston to the late Peter Paul DeMinico and Josephine Tedesco DeMinico and was the widow of Daniel G. Milano. Mrs. Milano was the past president of the Women's Italian Club of Boston, past president of the Frances Tomasello Club, fund raiser for John F. Kennedy's Congressional and Senate races and fund raiser for the Home for Italian Children. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Milano was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick and Joseph DeMinico. She is survived by three daughters, Deanne Sibley of Columbus, Ohio, Phyllis Milano of Marco Island, Fla., and Joya Palacio and husband Luis of Virginia Beach; sister, Edith S. DeMinico of Medford, Mass.; brother, Philip DeMinico of Boston; six grandchildren, Frank Coliano, Dana Coliano, Christopher Coliano, Joyia Sibley, Luis John Palacio and Marina Palacio Hunt; 10 great-grandchildren; and three nephews, Frederick DeMinico, Paul DeMinico and Frank Sorrenti. A Mass will be held in Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Esteban DeLeon officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sentara Hospice, 535 Independence Parkway, Suite 200, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.altmeyer.com. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach, is in charge of the arrangements.
