Angelo Penello Obituary

Angelo J. Penello Jr. NORFOLK - Angelo Joseph "Pete" Penello Jr., 67, passed away Feb. 17, 2009. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Angelo and Inez Elizabeth Penello Sr. Pete was the owner of Pete's Towing Service for more than 25 years and was currently employed with Dale Old Wrecker Service. He was a member of Kempsville Church of Christ. Pete leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of more than 49 years, Patricia Bateman Penello; and two daughters, Angela Corbett of Norfolk and Patricia Cohen and her husband Sam of Chesapeake. He was lovingly known as "Big Daddy" by his seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Pete is also survived by his sister, Barbara Penello Rogers and her husband James of Maryland; his brother, Anthony "Tony" Penello of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Rosewood Memorial Park with Minister Randall Childress officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Kempsville Church of Christ, 5424 Parliament Drive, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kempsville Church of Christ Building Fund. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
