Anne Sanderlin Obituary

Anne Morgan Sanderlin SOUTH MILLS - Anne Morgan Sanderlin of 310 Main St., went to be with her Lord Feb. 18, 2009. She was born in South Mills and continued to live there throughout her life. Mrs. Sanderlin was the daughter of the late Joseph Crowder Morgan and Sophia Hinton Morgan. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark G. Sanderlin Jr. and one sister, Mary Louise Morgan. Two of her sisters were very young when they passed on at 6 months old and 2 years of age. Anne was the best mother in the world. She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie R. Sanderlin of the home; two sons, Alfred M. Sanderlin of Fleming Island, Fla., and Joseph M. Sanderlin of the home. She also leaves behind one granddaughter whom she loved with all her heart, Melissa Jensen of Elizabeth City, N.C., and her wonderful husband Chris. Their two children, Chloe Elizabeth Jensen and Ethan Christopher Jensen, were her only two great-grandchildren and she absolutely adored them. The children wish to extend sincere appreciation and love to Anne's special nurse/caregiver who quickly became a loved member of our family. She was an angel sent to comfort Anne during her illness and her kindness will never be forgotten. Anne was a caregiver all her life, as well as caring first for her own mother, sister, husband and then son. She was such a patient and giving person. Anne was a member of Good News Baptist Church. She was a good, kindhearted Christian woman who lived her life for Christ everyday, not just on Sundays. Throughout her illness, she never complained one moment but continued to keep such a strong faith in God and looked to Him for strength. Her memory will be cherished by friends and loved ones. She was never one to have any accolades made to her and it was her desire to have a graveside service, which will be Saturday at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Mike Mizelle at the Morgan Family Cemetery, Northside Road, Elizabeth City. Visitation will be held in Twiford's Funeral Home, Church Street, today from 7 until 8:30 p.m. At all other times, friends are encouraged to visit with the family at their home. There will also be a memorial service honoring Anne's life held at a later date at her church. Anne loved her flower gardens and worked in them for many years. So, flowers are appreciated at this time, but since she loved her church and doing God's service was foremost in her mind, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Good News Baptist Church, c/o the Rev. Mike Mizelle, 157 Horseshoe Road, South Mills, NC 27976. It would warm her heart to know God's ministry is being continued in this way. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
