Frances Nieusma Obituary

Frances L. Nieusma POINT MARION, Pa. - Frances L. Nieusma, formerly of Florida, died Feb. 19, 2009, in the Point Marion Personal Care Home, Point Marion. Born Sept. 20, 1916, in Tarboro, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Naomi Cherry Little. She graduated from nursing school in Washington D.C. in 1938 and was with the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps from 1940 until her retirement in 1960. Surviving are her husband, Harris Nieusma; the following children: Harris Nieusma Jr. of Barre, Vt., Gerald Nieusma of Morgantown, W.Va., William Nieusma of Grand Rapids, Mich., Kristen Boykin of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Robert Luehrs of Portsmouth, Eric Luehrs of Virginia Beach, Erika Anderson of Toluca Lake, Calif., and Rolf Luehrs of Durango, Colo.; two sisters, Viola Taylor of North Carolina and Nancy Morgan of Arkansas; and a number of grandchildren and their families. Memorial services will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 1457 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach, Friday at 11:30 a.m.
