Louise Russell Myers Huff

Louise M. Huff SMITHFIELD - Louise Russell Myers Huff, 77, passed away Feb. 22, 2009. Born in Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Russell and Sarah Lee Johnson Myers, and the wife of the late Joseph E. Huff Jr. Louise had made her home in Smithfield since 1961. Louise had many varied interest and talents and was an elegant lady. She enjoyed painting, modeling and calligraphy. With her calligraphy skills, Louise transcribed numerous Isle of Wight County records onto parchment. For some time, Louise served in the gift shop at Historic St. Luke's Church. She was a member of the German Club and Trinity United Methodist Church. A beloved mother and grandmother, Louise leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Virginia Lee Delk and her husband Howard of Smithfield; three sons, Joseph E. Huff III and his wife Laury Beth of Galveston, Texas, Gordon Russell Huff and his wife Leslie of Goddard, Kan., and Robert Lee Huff; and 10 grandchildren. A graveside funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Luke's Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating. The family and friends will gather from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today in Colonial Funeral Home.
