Otelia M. Artis

Otelia M. Artis VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Otelia M. Artis entered into rest Feb. 24, 2009, after an illness. She was a mother, friend, educator and confidante, respectively, to the lives she impacted. She effectively raised her three sons imparting a great work ethic and a sense of responsibility in each. Mrs. Artis will be greatly missed by her sons, Jerry L. Artis and his wife Mary, Raymond Artis; brothers, Edward Morris, Leonard Morris; sisters, Gladis Harris, Ella Morris; grandchildren, Shavon, Raymond Jr. and Raymond III; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Herbert B. Artis and sister, Jeanette Little. A funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, with the Rev.
