Ruth Burns Obituary

Ruth Elizabeth Burns VIRGINIA BEACH - Ruth Elizabeth Burns, 75, of the 4600 block of Fern Oak Court, passed away Feb. 23, 2009, at her residence. She was predeceased by a sister, Golden Jones. She is survived by her husband, Patrick L. Burns Sr.; three daughters, Viola B. Jackson, Alicia Jenkins and Evita Burns Staton; one son, Patrick L. Burns Jr.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave. The Rev. Alvin J. Boone Sr. will officiate. Family and friends will assemble at 4605 Fern Oak Court one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I went to high school with Alicia and had lots of sleepovers at the Burn's house. Ms. Ruth always treated me like her own child and i will never forget her. God Bless!
