Robert Ward Obituary

Robert Turner Ward CHESAPEAKE - Robert Turner Ward, 82, of the 2800 block of Southport Ave., went to be with the Lord Feb. 28, 2009, in Chesapeake. A native of Glenrock, Va., he was the son of the late Turner Wilson and Elizabeth Perry Ward. An Army veteran of World War II, he retired from White-Stewart Oil Company and was a charter member and deacon of Southside Baptist Church. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Jean C. Ward; a daughter, Karen Ward-Lilly and her husband Jerry of Knotts Island, N.C.; a son, Robert C. Ward and his wife Wendy of Chesapeake; and three grandchildren, Cara-Lee Lilly, Jason Robert Ward and Matthew Phillip Ward. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Riddle officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the residence at all other times. Please share a memory with the family at grahamfuneralhome.com.
