Jack Milliner Obituary

Jack Milliner Jr. LOCUSTVILLE - The Rev. Wilber Jackson "Jack" Milliner Jr., 78, a resident of Locustville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ March 1, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. He was born in Locustville April 18, 1930, son of the late Iva Martin and the late Wilber J. Milliner. Rev. Milliner graduated from Randolph Macon Military Academy and Duke Divinity School. Prior to his retirement, he was a United Methodist pastor. He was the beloved pastor of the Gilford-Bloxom - St. Thomas Charge for 16 years and retired from the Melfa UM Church. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Jane Milliner Carrington and Susan Milliner Spinden and his nephew, Robert James "Jamie" Gutierrez. Rev. Milliner is survived by his wife, Joyce Brown Milliner of Locustville. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 2, 2008. A funeral will be held at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The services will be conducted by the Rev. G. Wayne Parsley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melfa UM Church, c/o Phil Lewis, P.O. Box 298, Melfa, VA 23410. Memory tributes may be sent to the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com.
