Mary Stokes Obituary

Mary Leigh Stokes NORFOLK - Mary Leigh "Dottie" Stokes of the 7000 block of Sewells Point Road was called home to be with the Lord Feb. 27, 2009, in a Richmond hospital. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Stith. She is survived by her husband, Noble B. Stokes Jr. of Norfolk; eight daughters, Shirley M. Stith of Portsmouth, Joyce A. Stith of Virginia Beach, Catina V. Elliott, Raiba C. Parson (Dexter Parson), Consuela Y. Jones, La'Toya L. Elliott, Samira T. Stokes, Rakeiah J. Stokes, all of Norfolk; two sons, Sherman G. Elliott of Richmond and Noble Bob Stokes III of Norfolk; one brother, Charles "Nelson" Stith (Ruth Stith) of Chesapeake; and a very dear friend, Jerry Miller of Chesapeake; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. We will always love you! A service will be held Friday at noon in the chapel of Hale Funeral Home. Interment will be private. www.halefuneralhome.com.
