James Michael "Jamie" Deeds

James Deeds Obituary

James M. Deeds PORTSMOUTH - James Michael "Jamie" Deeds died peacefully at home Feb. 28, 2009. Born Sept. 30, 1983, in Norfolk, he was the son of Charles Michael Deeds and Diane Germelman Deeds. He graduated from Churchland High School in 2001 where his participation in band allowed him to enjoy his music and play his instrument. He worked for several local restaurants and often spoke of becoming a chef. Jamie was a big guy with a big heart. He had many friends who will miss him. His "big hugs, kisses and gentle spirit" will be deeply missed by his family. He had great love for animals especially the family cat, "Oscar." Jamie was the best at video games and computers. God bless him, we will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his sister, Susan Leslie Deeds. He is also survived by his grandparents, Frances W. Deeds and Ernest J. Germelman; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, will be assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
