Michelle S. Reid PORTSMOUTH - Michelle S. Reid, 45, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ March 4, 2009, after a long and courageous struggle with a progressive illness. She was a member of Abyssinia Baptist Church and educated in New York. Michelle was a kind, gentle, loving and comforting woman to those fortunate to have known her. Although we know she is at peace, her absence leaves a void that we will miss and we will love her forever. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sisters, Brenda Floyd and Josephine Reid, both of Norfolk, Mindy Reid of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; her brothers, Freeman Reid of Virginia Beach, Ronald Reid of Chesapeake and Steven Reid of Oakwood, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine C. Reid, Freeman L. Reid; grandmother, Carrie R. Johnson and Louis C. Johnson. Viewing will be held Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Service. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Abyssinia Baptist Church, 2816 Colley Ave., Norfolk.
