Violet Rippy Obituary

Violet M. Rippy CHESAPEAKE - Violet M. Rippy of the 1300 block of Bunker Ridge Arch passed away March 6, 2009, in Chesapeake. A native of Force, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann Shadick. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Mrs. Rippy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Richard J. Rippy; four daughters, Joy A. Henn and Kathleen M. Roller, both of Virginia Beach, Tami J. Rippy of Pittsburgh and Beth A. Colorito and husband Lawrence of Chesapeake; a brother, Raymond Shadick; and four grandchildren, Richard Roller and Mandy Roller of Virginia Beach and Matthew Colorito and Cassie Colorito of Chesapeake. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Shadick Jr. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Cristiano Brito, O.S.B. officiating. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Lung Association, 5349 E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, VA 23502. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
