Bill King and I had been good friends for many years. We worked together at NCC Bank for many years. The first day I started at NNC Bank Bill said he would pick me up and I could ride to work with him. He would be my new boss. I have never been late in my life for anything but that morning I overslept and Bill had to wait for me to get ready. Later, after Bill found out I was a good employee he told me that first morning he thought "What have we hired here?"
We became very close and good friends. A couple of years ago when he visited Louisville he called me and we had a very good visit. It was good to see him again. We had a good time talking about old times. When Marie was ill my mother (Boots Owen)stayed with her during the day while Bill worked. Bill was a very good person to work with, a good Christian man who loved his family and friends. I know he will be missed but we know he is in heaven with Marie and my Mother and Dad (Everett Owen) whom he knew very well.

A dear friend -
Everett Owen, Jr.

To the greatest man I have ever known. Without a father-figure to guide, steer and invoke character in me, I have always behaved "as if " my Grandfather were present, "what would he do?" He has now passed on to be with the Lord and spend all of eternity with the love of his life, Marie King, my Grandmother. For all who were graced with knowing him and for all who knew him, we are all blessed to have the time together. He is now rewarded with the greatest gift of all. Grandpa, enjoy heaven, enjoy the fruits of your life and all of the treasures now bestowed upon you. I love you and I will miss you! God Speed!
