Evelyn Chappell

Evelyn B. Chappell CHESAPEAKE - Evelyn Bowden Chappell, 78, of the 2000 block of South River Road, passed away June 10, 2009, in Chesapeake. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late George Bowden Sr. and Beulah Murden Bowden. She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Chappell Sr.; two daughters, Aline Elizabeth Saunders of Portsmouth and Darlene Frances Randle of Chesapeake; a son, Thomas A. Chappell Jr. of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren, Thomas A. Chappell III, Angela Chappell, Jennifer Chappell, Sheila King, Jay Saunders, Bobby Saunders, Stephen Chappell, Michael Keesee, David Keesee and David Randle; and nine great-grandchildren, Tristyn, Taylor, Dylan, Hunter, Joseph, Trishelle, Timberland, Aubrey and Cole. She was preceded in death by a son, Ellis H. Chappell. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with the Rev. M.L. Bloodworth officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
