Ernest Perkins Obituary

Ernest E. Perkins Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Ernest Edward Perkins Jr., 63, of the 900 block of Copper Stone Circle, passed away June 10, 2009, in Chesapeake. A native of Louisville, Ky., he was the son of Victoria Warley Perkins and the late Ernest E. Perkins Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a truck driver from Waste Industries. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Virginia Perkins; two daughters, Moriah Joy Fletcher and her husband David and Rachel Marie Perkins, all of Chesapeake; a son, Ernest E. Perkins III of Warrenton, Va.; a sister, Trudy D. Perkins of Altamont Springs, Fla.; four nieces, Christianne Taylor, Katherine Anne Boykin, Danielle Boykin and Sheila Boykin; and two nephews, Christopher Boykin and Willeum Boykin. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Bible Believers Church, 2101 Iowa St., Chesapeake, with Pastor Scott Osborne officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milner's Road, Suffolk. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel. Please share a memory with the family at www.grahamfuneralhome.com.
