Loretta Deglow Obituary

Loretta Frances Deglow VIRGINIA BEACH - Loretta Frances Deglow, 69, passed away June 12, 2009. Loretta was born in Liverpool, England, and moved to Virginia Beach in 1983. Loretta was a character with a huge heart. Quite the independent woman, she never missed an opportunity to tell anyone exactly what she thought. She was loved by all who met her. Her customers from Nick's, Pete, and Georges Restaurant, and her cleaning business will remember Loretta with a smile on her face and plenty of free advice. Left to cherish her memory will be her four children, Christine, David, John and Janet; her son-in-law, Art; and her five grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, Ace, John, and David. We will miss you MUM. A funeral will be held Thursday, June 18, at 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Christopher Thompson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA. www.hdoliver.com.

I will never forget the time Loretta invited me into her home just to hang out and talk after she learned of my first heartbreak at the age of 13. I only knew her because she worked at Pete and Georges where my mother worked. We sat on the sofa and had tea, laughed and joked and were friends ever since. I alway's enjoyed her company and the way she made me feel. I WILL MISS HER !!!

To Family of Loretta,
I am sorry to hear about the passing of your Mother. I worked with her at Pete & Georges and will always remember her quick wit and fabulous sense of humor. She was so proud of her family and never missed an opportunity to tell people about her children and grand children. It was obvious to anyone who came in contact with her how much she cherished and loved all of you.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of your Mom. We worked together at Pete and George's for over a decade, and she was, indeed, a character, who was loved and will be missed by many, I am sure. She was one of the hardest working people that I've ever met and could never brag enough about her family. I know you will miss her. You are in my thoughts and prayers. My deepest condolences.
