Howard Dunton

Howard F. Dunton NASSAWADOX - Howard Franklin Dunton, 89, died June 13, 2009, in Chesapeake. Born in Machipongo, he retired as a service station owner after 38 years. He was a member of Johnsons United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Anne Bayly Dunton of Nassawadox; two daughters, Betsy Dunton Morrison and husband Dev of Berryville, Va., Susan Dunton of Chesapeake; a son, Frank Dunton and wife Susie of Midlothian, Va.; five grandchildren and a great- grandchild. He was predeceased by his mother, Susie Nottingham Dunton; father, Howard Franklin Dunton Sr.; and three sisters, Helen D. Fitchett, Sallie D. McKenzie and Lola D. Bagot. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Johnsons Cemetery, Johnsontown, by the Rev. Clarence Bowen. Fox & James Funeral Home, Eastville, is in charge.
