Melvin Goodson Obituary

Melvin J. Goodson Sr. NORFOLK - Mr. Melvin J. Goodson Sr., 83, of the 6500 Block of Whitehorn Lane, departed this life Wednesday June 17, 2009. A native of Norfolk, Melvin proudly served in the United States Navy, civil service, and was the owner of Mels Roofing. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Margie Goodson; daughters, Esther Foster of Chesapeake, Melvine Kelly Thomas and Barbara Booth of Virginia Beach. The funeral will be held in First Baptist Church Logan Park Tuesday, June 23, at noon. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. in Riddick Funeral Service, 1225 Norview Ave. www.riddickfuneralservices.com.
