Dear Mama,
It's been over a month since you left us and I still miss you and love you so much everyday. Jaime and I go by your grave often, and just knowing you're with Daddy now in a better place is comforting. But I still miss you Mama, and look forward to the day I'll see you and Daddy again. Until then, I'll miss having you here everyday and love you forever.
Love always,

To my adopted family,
I may not have been related by blood but I loved Wealtha like she was my grandma. Tammy and I have been sisters for as long as I can remember and we have shared a lot of good times in Virginia with all of you. I will miss Grandma Wealtha very much but I know she is in a better place and will never have to suffer again. I only regret that I had not seen or talked to her in a long time but I know that she knows now that I loved her and will miss her. To the family I am so sorry for your loss and please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I love ya'll.

Mom,
Today we took the final journey with you and it was a memorable one. You always loved having your family around and so we gathered to pay honor to you and your role as mother and grandmother. I will miss our weekly visits together. Wednesdays just won't seem the same without my trip to Norfolk to pick you up and take you out to eat. We usually went to your favorite Chinese restaurant. I'll also miss what had become our annual trip to see the Christmas lights at Norfolk Botanical Garden. I will miss you, but take comfort in the fact that you are celebrating in heaven and didn't have to cross Jordan alone. I bet Daddy was waiting on the other side for you along with Grandma and Grandaddy Weller, Aunt Sarah, and the rest of the Weller clan. We have many wonderful memories to share and you will always be loved.
Your loving daughter,
Janis

Grandma,
Where do I begin? I have so many beautiful memories of you. The times I spent with you and my Granddaddy are some of the best of my life – and they are etched in my heart forever. You made me laugh, feel safe and so loved. Some things in this world will never be as good to me without you . . . swinging on the front porch of the farmhouse after dinner, tomato sandwiches, chipped beef gravy over toast (smile) – nobody could make that stuff special like my Grandma. You were the best. This is such a bittersweet time, I am so filled with happiness that you are with God and my Granddaddy and other family members now; but I am also sad that you are no longer here with us – I will miss you so very much. God gave me a gift that I will forever be thankful for – he gave me that last Christmas visit with you riding around looking at Christmas lights, holding your hand and laughing with you. I am so blessed to have been given that gift, and thankful that those are some of the last memories of you that I hold in my heart. I may live in Alabama, but my heart stayed with my Grandma in Virginia. I will miss calling and checking on you and talking with you when you were feeling up to it. But now when I tell you “I love you”, I know you can hear me. We are no longer at the mercy of the telephone and the miles between us, we can talk whenever we want to now. So this is not goodbye . . . it is merely “until I see you again.” I will love you always, Grandma, and cherish the beautiful memories I have of you.
Love,
Tammy

To All The Family,
Wealtha was my great aunt. Her sister Eva was my grandmother. I have nothing but good memories of Aunt Wealtha. I saw more of her in my younger years and if my memory serves me right, she had a great sense of humor, great advice, wonderful love for her family AND a great family! Wealtha and Sarah were always such a pleasure to visit. Just know she is at peace with our Lord and rejoicing with other family members. My prayer is our ENTIRE family will rejoice in time with her.
May God comfort you all in this time of sorrow.

My Precious Little Mama,
I'm not going to tell you good-bye, but instead, I will see you later. Who knew that when I came here from Alabama in November 2007 that I would still be here now. I'm so glad I stayed when my sister Joan told me you were coming to live with her. I knew I was staying to the end, to take care of you the best I could. Mama, we had good times, fun times, and even a few bad times, but we survived it all. You were the cutest little mama anybody could have. 14 months & 15 days, you stayed with us and surprised everyone. You were very tough and I am so thankful that I got to see you everyday and spend every holiday with you. I love you very much, and when I do go back to Alabama, a part of you will go with me to make sure I get home safely. Your granddaughter Tammy said to tell you she loves you very much. Tammy asked about you everyday when she called from Alabama. Mama, this is not goodbye, even though I know you are with Daddy now and in a better place, but I will see you later. You are my precious little mama, and you will be with me in my heart until I see you.
Love you,
Joyce

To Our Dear Mama and Grandma,
Words can't really express how much we love and miss you. You were always there for all of us and gave us more than we ever deserved. As a Grandma, you were the best. We all know how much you loved Josh & Jaime, as well as all your grandchildren, and they were so blessed to have you in their lives. They love and miss you so much. As a mother-in-law, Jimmie was so thankful for you. You were always so good, kind and thoughtful to him, and never failed to have his "slice of ham" or can of cashews for him to enjoy. And he will never forget that and he also loved you so much. As a Mama, I've already said that you were the best, and I meant that. I was your "baby" and you always made me feel so loved and you know how much I loved you right back. I'll miss calling you everyday to check on my Mama. We are all so thankful to have had you in our lives. We miss you, Mama, but you're happy now, and I know Daddy is just as happy to have you with him. You're not worrying about anything, you're not hurting anymore, and knowing that makes this pain we feel a little more bearable. You always did so much for all of us and I hope you know how much we all loved and appreciated you. We will love and miss you always.

Grandma, you and I have so many shared memories and moments: playing rummy, milk & oranges, "the farm", the yellow house (where I practically lived with you), and many, many more. You have taken part of me with you and I will keep those parts of you with me. In many ways you more than a grandmother to me; no one cheered me on and made me feel special like you did. Your memory and legacy will live on through your children and grandchidren and beyond. I pray that you have found peace and contentment with God and are reunited with Grandaddy forever. I will always appreciate and remember all that you have done and meant to me.
I love you.

Dear Janis, Johnny, Jayne, Joan, Joyce, and Jean and all the grandchildren- We loved your Mama very much and she was in fact known as "Grandma Woodard" to Ian. We will never forget all of the late evening hot dinners she served us with a smile. The hospitality she should us was unequaled especially when we spent weekends at "the farm." She has been a part of the Hedgepeth family for so many years and we loved her as one of our own. God bless each of you. Please know that Jesus was waiting with open arms to bring her beside her beloved Jim. Love and prayers to all of you...Edna, Pam, Gail, Gary, Dennis, and Ian
