William P. Silva PORTSMOUTH - William Peter Silva, 80, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009, in his residence. He was a native of Boston, and was the son of the late Edward and Mary Silva. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Community United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Silva; two daughters, Karen Whitener and husband Al of Suffolk and Debra Daniels and husband Mike of Pennsylvania; a sister, Mary Plumber; four grandchildren, Neil, Kevin, Michelle and Michael; and three great-grandchildren, Allison, Ella and Chase. He was a kind and gentle man who was always there when someone called. He will be missed! A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Mike Putnam. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
