Nellie Watts Obituary

Nellie B. Watts PORTSMOUTH - Nellie Bell Watts, 85, died June 23, 2009. Born in Roaring River, N.C., she was the widow of Dwight "Smiley" Watts. Mrs. Watts was a member of White Plain Baptist Church in Roaring River and attended West Park Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Linda W. Hitchings and husband Wayne of Goochland County, Virginia; three sons, James Dwight "Jimmy" Watts and wife Diane of Virginia Beach, Johnny Lee Watts and wife Paulette of Portsmouth, and Ronny Lee Watts and wife JoAnn of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren, Meredith, Courtney, Jason, Lisa, Megan, Michael, Todd, Matthew, Thomas and Phoebe; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. in West Park Church of Christ by Mr. Keith Lewis. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to West Park Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and family. I lost my Mom near the end of September. I miss her still as I imagine you will miss your Mom.
