Elsie Marshall

Elsie H. Marshall NORFOLK - Elsie E. Hinds Marshall, 93, passed away June 27, 2009, after a brief illness. She was born in Erie, Pa., Feb. 10, 1916. She was the daughter of William A. Hinds Sr. and Ethel Shoemaker Hinds. Mrs. Marshall is survived by her son, Richard D. Marshall Sr. and his wife Geraldine of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Richard Jr. and his wife Ceci of Richmond, Va., Diane Dangerfield and her husband Wally of Windermere, Fla., Suzanne of Portsmouth, and Joseph Marshall and his wife Dana of Norfolk; four great-grandchildren, Anna-Maria Hallock and her husband Jeremy, Molly Marshall, Kendall Rice and Tyler Marshall; one great-great- grandson, Justin; a sister-in-law, Jean Hinds of Levittown, Pa.; one nephew; two nieces; and her friend, Margaret Willis. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her granddaughter, Mary Beth; great-grandson, Nicholas; and brother, William A. Hinds Jr. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
