Beula Sheets

Beula Sheets SMITHFIELD - Beula Alice Vandevander Sheets, 82, passed away June 28, 2009, at her home. She was a native of Pendleton County, West Virginia, and resided in Rescue for more than 50 years before moving to Smithfield. Mrs. Sheets was a loving and devoted wife, homemaker and mother who dearly loved her God and both her church families at Smith Creek Church of The Brethern, W.Va., and Riverview United Methodist Church in Rescue. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Texie S. Vandevander; brothers, Otis Marvin, John, Ray, Ralph and Roy; sisters, Evelyn V. Warner and Grace V. Newcomb; and her husband, Jimmie L. Sheets. Mrs. Sheets is survived by her two daughters, Judy S. Turner and husband Albert L. "Sonny" of Smithfield and JoAnn S. Finderson and husband Thomas E. "Tommy" of Carrollton; granddaughter, Vicki M. Mottley; two great-grandchildren, Colleen and Michael Finney; sister, Lucy Warble of Harrisonburg; brother, Glenn Vandevander and wife Betty; and many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Home Sweet Home, HCC and Heartland Hospice for there loving care and support. A service celebrating Beula's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, with the Rev. Leon Basham officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Memorial Park. Following the committal service, friends and family will gather at Riverview United Methodist Church for visitation.
